Day 20 & 21 – Weekend Warrior

I lost Friday night submits because I passed out, just couldn’t keep my eyes open. So Saturday morning, I was able to build my sites then submit. After work (yes, I work weekends), I got a call and went on a date. Not that I could submit that night anyway, seeing how I just submitted that morning. Sunday night I got back on the horse and built another free site, submits, and started reviewing the databases in chameleon submitter.

I wanted to really see where my sites where going. I reviewed my host logs to see where traffic was coming from. I found that basically about 10 sites that produced most of the traffic, and that the #1 site produced more than the rest combined. What I can’t get a grip on is my click through ratio (ctr) to sponsors. I’m around 800 clicks across all sponsors that I can track, and about another 500 that I can’t track down.

Given a rough total of clicks of 1300, and total unique traffic of 25k, that’s a ctr of 5.2%. These numbers are bare minimums. I tried to use unique visitors and unique clicks to sponsors when available. If I don’t count the numbers that are untrackable, the ctr is 3.2%. Although I’m pretty excited, that fact that the ctr is so high makes me wonder if I’m calculating everything correctly. Based on what I’m reading around the forums, ctr is usually closer to 1-3%. All that matters in the end is how much money I make. Still zero sales.

You probably noticed a couple of dips in the chart. The first dip on the 16th was me blocking hotlinking. I found a few rogue forums where members where hotlinking my galleries in their threads. Here’s the thread at greenguyandjim where I asked about this problem. The second dip occurred because I missed submitting to tommy’s bookmarks.

Still, I think the trend is up overall. I still get emails for galleries and sites that I submitted 2 weeks ago getting approved. This should continue and I really can’t wait to see what my traffic will be next month. I’m sure the holidays will put some downward pressure on visits, but since I’m starting out new, I should still see an upward trend.

I’m also working on building partner accounts. I found several sites that chameleon won’t submit too unless the partner account is setup. This is going to take some time. I put in requests this weekend, still no response. Many of the partner accounts are paid only via submitpass. I just got approved this morning, so I will start to review some more paid partner accounts. Boneme looks pretty good, based on howling wulf’s review here.

Here’s what I submitted last night:
Free site: Unsuspecting Amateur Teens
TGP Gallery: Cassidy Morgan
Sponsor: Trafficcashgold
