Not sure what got into me, but I’ve only submitted 4 galleries this month till now. I got off my ass and submitted two more this morning making it 6. Shew!
However, I have really been working my blogs pretty hard, tweaking things here and there. Still have a few blogs to get to, but I’ve got my ratedxpics.com blog all done. One of the galleries I submitted today only has links going to it, so hopefully that will drive some traffic directly.
Lots of comments these past few days about getting seo traffic to the blogs. I’ve been promising to do a post about how I do tweak for seo traffic. So today I’m gonna try and give it a start.
Basically, it’s about keyword research. I’ll use one of my blogs as an example, continuing the case study I started earlier here: Case Study In that post I you’ll see my brand new blog College Girl Fucked and the keywords I targeted and the seo traffic I started out with. Do a quick read on it and I’ll pick up from there.
I haven’t done anything with it since I made that post. To summarize – submitted a free site and 2 galleries promoting it with a small link at the bottom that says “No thanks – take me to College Girl Fucked”.
The first thing I do is a little research on a niche then pick a sponsor I want to promote. I found Dare Dorms with nastydollars was converting well for other webmasters based on their stats – posted here. It kinda hits several niches at once – amateur, teen, reality, and college girls. So you have a pretty wide net when submitting to tgps.
Now that I have a niche and sponsor, I start doing keyword research. I use the google keywords tool to help me pick a domain name. Daredorm is a college teen reality site, so I start with a basic search like “college girls”.
Click on the “Get keyword ideas” and you’ll get a list like this:
I then sort by local search volume – which means in my case the United States. I also select “phrase match” which just means that the keywords must appear but can be in any order.
You’ll see several potential keywords to choose from. I’m looking for something that gets over 1000 searches. Everything from “real college girl” and higher is a potential domain name. I then export these keywords into notepad.
Then I edit the list getting rid of the quotes and spaces like so:
I want to see if any of these are available in a dot com – so I just do a bulk search at godaddy. I simply cut and paste the list into the bulk domain name registration form below.
Check the “.com” box. I rarely see any domain rank that was not a dot com in the adult business. Then just click on search.
Now that I see what is available, and I like them, I will do one more step before I decide to buy them. I want to see what the competition is like for these keywords in the domains I’m interested in. So I just do a google search for “real college girl” and “college girl fucked”.
If you look in the upper right hand corner, you’ll see 368,000 competing listings. That’s pretty high, but not too bad in the adult realm. I normally like to see under 100k.
For college girl fucked, there are 2,320,000 competing listings. However, if you’ll notice – my site is currently ranking #3! I normally wouldn’t have bought this domain, but I really liked it and decided to do one more step before deciding on it.
I searched for how many sites had the keywords in the title like this:
Now we’re talking! Only 30,700 competing listings.
You could go further and research each of the top listings to see how many links are coming in, their page rank, site age, etc… However, in this business, it’s not as important as the work you do after you buy the domain name. You basically just want to have a head start.
So how’s my domain collegegirlfucked.com doing today?
Wow – 3184 Visits!!! And it’s only Feb 18th. Should be almost 6000 by end of the month.
As you can see, most of the hits are coming from google. To look at it another way, I’m getting about 30 hits per day on the keywords I’m targeting.
Here are the keywords it’s ranking for so far:
So there you have it. That’s how I get seo traffic to start with. keeping this up and improving on it is just a matter of building links back to the sight using the keywords in the anchor text. You can do this through link exchanges, posting to directories, and submitting tgps and free sites.
Oh, by the way, I haven’t made any sales from this blog yet. So as you might have suspected, I’ll need a lot more traffic. Also, I haven’t done any writing on this blog yet and it needs a lot of work in terms of pushing people to the sponsor. I’m gonna contact jester-x again and outsource that to him. So this blog is far from done.
After you have the domain name and wordpress with all the plugins I’ve recommended in the past – there’s a couple of quickie things you can do for seo. Take a look at this comment I made recently : twitter and friendfeed and pingler
There’s plenty more that needs to be done for seo – and seriously – I am no expert. However, I recommend installing the seobook.com plugin for firefox and reading everything on that site. It’s a tremendous wealth of info.
Anyway, I hope this helps some of you get off on the right foot. My fingers are a really tired now, so I may come back and edit this post a few times to reword it or add stuff. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask.
To your success!
