Day 15 – Choosing an Adult Affiliate program

I mentioned in a previous post that Tommy accepted my partner request. I am in the process of setting up that up and hopefully can begin submitting to his site this week, but no later than next week.

In his response, he suggested I promote a variety of sponsors rather than focus on the select few that I have now. He said it was better to get a lot of little checks than a few larger checks. To that end, I’m going to look for some new sponsors.

My basic criteria for select a new sponsor include:
1. Free content for new webmasters
2. RSS feeds
3. Reputation/popularity

My initial selection for Totemcash, Trafficcashgold, Twistys, and Fling affiliate programs meet all of the above. I have recently joined FTVcash. Unfortunately, you have to request access to the free content area. I sent an email yesterday and hopefully they will approve my request so I can start promoting them in the tgp/LL game. For now, I can use their excellent rss feed and free hosted gallery sections.

I haven’t exhausted the trafficcash and twistys affiliate area, as they have several niches. I’ve just barely scratched the surface, so I’ll have more than enough content for months to come promoting them.

To determine the reputation and popularity of a sponsor, I simply skim the adult webmaster forums. GreenguyandJim and gfy are good places to start. I’m looking for praises and complaints – particularly for non-payment or skimming. I also check out rabbits reviews to see how they are ranked. If I get a good overall impression, I’ll sign up and start digging in the affiliate area.

As a professional courtesy, please try to join the affiliate program of choice via a webmasters referral affiliate id. Meaning, if you find out about a program through a recommendation, try to join from that original page. For example, I heard about FTVcash from HowlingWulf’s Blog. So I made every effort to make sure he got credit for me joining their program. In return, HowlingWulf will get some percentage of my sales.

I’m not saying join using a referral ID from the first place you heard about it. Choose the webmaster referral ID that was the most helpful to you in making the decision to join. HowlingWulf summarized FTVcash and backed it up with his personal stats. Based on his recommendation, I joined through his affiliate referral ID, even though I had heard about FTVcash before. Make sure your cookies are enabled, clear them, then click on the referral link. This is the best way to insure you give credit to the webmaster you intended.

If you find my reviews and experience using chameleon helpful, or comments on any of the sponsors I use, I hope that you will join using my referral IDs. The referral IDs are built into the links on this blog, so you don’t have to do anything other than click on the link from here.

Anyway, I had a decent night last night working the business. I was able to build my free site and galleries, submit, and do email confirmations in less than 4 hours. I finished around 930pm, and was happy to shut down and go to bed early. I could have done a myriad of other things, but sometimes you have to stop and smell the roses. I’ve been catching up on episodes of grounded for life.

Free site built: Girls Barge In, Bust in, Fuck In
Gallery: Girls Bust In
Sponsor: TrafficCashGold

Still no sales, but I did setup some tracking subid with trafficcashgold. I’m seeing a nice increase in clicks to sponsors, so I better have a good tracking system in place.
