Virtuaguy Affiliate Program Venture

So last week I thought I’d give the virtuaguy program a shot seeing how my virtuagirl program is hot right now. Despite stumbling a little with the first gallery (I didn’t check the affiliate links in my gallery – so always double check your links!), I already made a sale. Not from the gallery submit, but from my blog! Hot Guys Stripping

I got some decent traffic from the adult blog directories I submitted too.

Not too worried about the big drop today, since it’s still morning.

Putting the blog directory links on the sidebar instead of on a separate links page gets your blog listed in the higher traffic directories.  The inner pages still have decent page rank too, so I should get some link juice for seo.

Be nice to see this traffic continues, the first day is very promising.  So go out and submit all you blogs now!

Couple of other random notes to self here:

The argument continues occasionally whether putting hardcore galleries out their is hurting the entire business.  I have no doubt if surfers couldn’t get hardcore unless they paid for it that we would all be better off.  But as you know by now, that ship has sailed.  From my experience in the last 6 months, the hardcore just doesn’t convert anywhere near the softcore of my totemcash efforts and fling.  Whenever I promote the hardcore galleries of the other sponsors, the ratios are 10-20 times higher.  I haven’t calculated an exact number, but if it goes over 1:1000, I have to write it off since I don’t drive enough traffic.  It could be months between sales at this rate.

I also need to revisit doing free sites.  Checking my pimproll stats, I see my free sites still get more traffic than my galleries even though I haven’t done a free site in 2 months.

As you can see, “nexusll” is still getting more hits than all the other campaigns combined.  So my new strategy is going to be submitting softcore free sites for totemcash.  I did several back in Dec – Feb, but as you know it’s hard to tell if those converted since the totemcash referral stats are the weakest of all the affiliates. So I’m just making an educated guess.  I could show you stats from other sponsors, but the above is fairly representative of them all.

I’ll have to think of a way to track totemcash better.  Tracking by using traditional methods is difficult since you’d have to “redirect” from the click tracker to the affiliate link.  Technically not to hard, but many sites that accept links don’t like redirecting.  Will have to give this some more thought, since the intent of the “no redirects” rule is to stop circle jerks and other less than honest marketing.  However, I can redirect all I want on my own blogs for tracking purposes.

I really enjoyed making those videos for fireworks, and I know Bill really appreciated them and has already started building new galleries using the techniques I demonstrated. I’m gonna make some more as time permits. I really want to cover some chameleon techniques I use to get listed in more places and some other things that I think will help.

Finally, I wanted to share another idea I’ve been pondering since January.  Someone that MP Forum brought this up and there seem to be some interest in it. Here’s the link: http://bbs.mediumpimpin.com/showthread.php?t=95428

He’s basically floating the idea of starting an adult article directory.  Article marketing in the mainstream internet marketing circles is huge.  I’m surprised this idea hasn’t caught on in a big way with adult marketing.  Sure, everyone is doing blog story sites.  In theory, all you’d have to do is run their rss feed on your blog if you wanted to get regularly updated content.  However, you’d be getting everything, when maybe you don’t want everything.

An adult article directory would let you pick and choose only that content you’d want to show on your site.  The article directory owner could setup a rating system so that you can just cherry pick the best content.  I’ve setup a test site for an adult article directory.  Once I get some of the posting policies and other logistics worked out, I’m gonna go “live” and start accepting submissions.

As always, I hope everyone is making more progress this month than last. ;)
